YoungArts’ signature program is an application-based award for emerging artists ages 15–18 or in grades 10–12 from across the United States. Selected through a blind adjudication process conducted by an independent panel of highly accomplished artists, YoungArts winners receive valuable support, including financial awards of up to $10,000, professional development and educational experiences working with renowned mentors, and performance and exhibition opportunities at some of the nation’s leading cultural institutions.

Submit an audition or art portfolio to one of 10 categories for awards including:  Cinematic Arts, Design Arts, Theater, Writing, Classical Music, Jazz, Visual Arts, Dance, Photography, and Voice. Then complete the YoungArts application including required documentation and audition or portfolio materials, by the deadline. Pay the $35 application fee or get a fee waiver.

Your submission is evaluated on its own merit in a blind adjudication process that includes multiple rounds of review.  In each round, a national pool of master artists within each of the ten disciplines in the visual, literary, performing and design arts fields review and evaluate materials. Winners awarded at the Finalist level participate in an additional tier of evaluation in person.
