In 2017, The Actuarial Foundation was struggling to gain traction with its Project Math Minds program. The Foundation hired ICS to design and manage a new program to enhance its workforce development efforts - the Modeling the Future Challenge.

ICS developed the Plant the Moon Challenge in collaboration with 3 NASA Space Grant Consortia to engage students in hands-on STEM experiments through a transdisciplinary connection between agriculture and aerospace.

ICS was contracted by NASA in 2025 to design and manage a new STEM engagement competition for university students awarding $380,000 annually. ICS designed the rules, eligibility, submission requirements, and engagement processes all while navigating the difficulties of a federal government shutdown.
