Innovation World presents Ready, Set, Innovate, the invention competition for grades K-12 (or the equivalent) and individuals 18-25 years of age.  Invention entries must be the inventor(s) original work and can be in any category, serving any industry, audience or end user.  Inventors Launchpad assists inventors from concept to commercialization and we are very excited they are partnering with us for Ready, Set, Innovate, providing winners with mentoring and next-step solutions for students who place.

The following 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place awards will be available for each grade/age category (Grades K-5, 6-8, 9-12 & ages 18-25):

Flare Award (3rd Place)

One-on-one mentor session(s) with Inventors Launchpad (or industry partner)

Lift Off Award (2nd Place)

One-on-one mentor session(s) with Inventors Launchpad (or industry partner)

Market-ready prototype

Soar Award (1st Place)

One-on-one mentor session(s) with Inventors Launchpad (or industry partner)

Market-ready prototype

Assistance in one or more of the following categories: website, 3d printing, prototyping, consult, mentoring, patent consultation, marketing, public relations, (or another appropriate offering as determined by Inventors Launchpad)

All winners:

  • Will be included in Innovation World’s “Gallery of Innovators”
  • Invention and story will be cross-promoted on Innovation World’s website and social media networks
  • Will receive an invitation to participate in the Innovation World Podcast Series
  • Will receive invitations to applicable conferences and public speaking opportunities, serving as program alumni representatives

Entries are evaluated by Innovation World judges and scored based on the contest criteria within their grade or age range. The top three scoring entries in each grade/age category will be deemed the winners.

Students will be required to complete an online registration form detailing basic invention information as well as submit a video pitch telling the story of their invention.  Video entries will be evaluated based on Invention Process (description of the problem and how the invention solves the problem, the steps taken, design/build, testing/iterations, etc.) Invention Impact (market potential, value proposition, social value, originality) and Communication.
