In this challenging time, it’s more important than ever to express, create, and connect with others. The Fresh Films Video Challenges allow you to do just that!  And along the way, you’ll learn some pretty awesome documentary film and storytelling skills that you can use in other classes, for college applications and beyond.

The video projects you create are important and will help document this historical time.  So, grab a phone or tablet, watch the how-to video below & follow our step-by-step guide to create your video.  We’ll showcase the films and select at least one winner per age group to receive $100 + $100 for their favorite teacher! (Also, teachers & parents, see our tips below for how you can use these challenges!)

P.S. This program is for all filmmaking abilities!  Haven’t done many films? No worries! Our Fresh Films team will guide you through the film process. Pretty advanced filmmaker? Awesome!  The project will help further your storytelling and documentary skills.

  • Create a video for each challenge (up to 2-minutes)
  • Use your phone or tablet and easy-to-use editing apps
  • A new challenge launches every two weeks – details are below!
  • Complete all 4 challenges and receive a Fresh Films digital production certification (which is a great addition to your resume and college applications!)
Parents & Educators:  It’s a challenging time for you too!  So we created these challenges as an enriching but easy way for you to connect with students where they want to be: on YouTube, making videos, and being creative.  Each challenge is one self-standing project with guidelines for students to complete on their own. Teachers: You can share these as an assignment or just for fun. The social justice and self-reflective themes connect with Social Emotional learning but also ELA, Social Studies, and Science.

Fresh Films will be evaluating for creativity and use of editing skills!
