Win $15,000 and get an opportunity to speak at COP28 in Egypt by participating in the ClimateScience (CS) Olympiad, a free and global competition engaging youth aged 12-25 years to find solutions to some of the most challenging climate issues and empowering them to be the climate leaders/innovators of tomorrow.

First launched in 2021, the Olympiad reached more than 12,400 participants in over 149 countries and held its award ceremony at COP26 with Dr. Jane Goodall as guest speaker.

Just go to https://climatescience.org/olympiad and click on the Register button to sign up for the CS Olympiad. The Qualifier round is a 25 min climate quiz, which can be taken online anytime. The registration for the CS Olympiad will close on 10th June 2023.

The Olympiad will be conducted in four stages, qualifier, quarter finals, semi finals and the Finals. In the first two stages, students will be required to answer some multiple choice questions in 25 minutes. In the semi finals and finals, the questions will put students in the shoes of leaders, make them research about a particular issue in depth hence exposing them to the latest research, and then ask them to think of proposals that are socially equitable, realistic, economically feasible and rapidly implementable. Working on such problems enhances students’ research, analysis, problem solving and articulation abilities. It also helps them develop a realistic perspective of the current climate crisis, understand the underlying intricacies and provide them tools for more effective climate action.
