Owlypia Globals are exciting international competitions for students aged 9-11 (Owlins), 12-14 (Owlets) and 15-18 (Owlys). At Owlypia Globals, students come together at prestigious institutions to participate in a series of team and individual challenges revolving around a central theme. Owlypia Globals are held onsite in Cambridge-UK and Boston-USA and online as Global Virtual. The main prerequisite for applying to an Owlypia Global is to receive a medal from either an Online Round or a Local Round.

Competition Process

  • A group of three students form a team
  • All students register their teams online and prepare themselves for the challenges studying the recommended resources.
  • The study resources contain several movies and videos to watch, books and articles to read, topics to research, and questions to sharpen their knowledge.
  • All team members must compete in all 5 team challenges. These challenges are: Knowledge Challenge, Impromptu Challenge, Speech Craft Challenge, Pen Down Challenge and Team Spirit Challenge.

Judging Criteria

In Knowledge Challenge and Team Spirit the students are going to answer questions from their favorite subject and resources they studied from. In impromptu Challenge, Pen Down and Speech Craft they will be given scores by judges present.
