As the nation’s second largest city, Los Angeles uses a lot of water and energy. It’s important that we all work together to conserve these vital resources and protect our planet. So we’re calling on all students to submit original artwork illustrating how everyone can do their part.

Competition Process

Each entry must include illustrations of how Los Angeles can conserve water and/or energy. Illustrations must promote conservation tips (examples: shorter showers, turning off lights), depict why conservation is so important, and include an original slogan.

Judging Criteria

A panel of judges from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power will select prizewinners by judging the Artwork based on the following criteria: quality of written headline in support of the theme, quality of the artistic concept, implementation of the Artwork, appropriateness of the artwork for poster media, and quality of the artwork in relation to grade level.
