Contest Grand Prize $10,000 USD – Help Extend Life Expectancy With Your Creative Ideas

The Workable Innovations for Living Longer Contest, from the Society of Actuaries, offers a $10,000 USD grand prize. We seek your creative ideas to help people extend their healthy life expectancy by social, physical, or psychological means. As an individual or with a group, send in your video and written explanation of your idea. Read the contest rules. Submit your idea by May 29.

The Entries will be judged based on the following criteria: • Originality: Extent to which the Idea is different than what is currently available or known; • Practicality: Extent to which the Idea can be practically applied; • Clarity of Pitch: Clarity of the presentation of the Idea; and • Impact of the Idea: Magnitude of the effect and the number of individuals benefiting from the improvement generated by the Idea. Eligibility:
The Contest is open to legal residents of the United States of America, the United Kingdom and Canada who are at least eighteen (18) years of age as of January 1, 2020. Entrants must be able to travel to and attend the 2020 SOA Annual Meeting & Exhibit on October 26, 2020 in Seattle, Washington in order to participate in the final judging of the Contest. Entrants entering the Contest as part of a team are only required to send one (1) individual from the team to the 2020 SOA Annual Meeting & Exhibit. All members of a team must meet the eligibility requirements of Section 1. Employees of the Society of Actuaries and members of the SOA’s Mortality & Longevity Strategic Research Program Steering Committee are not eligible to enter the Contest. This Contest is void in Quebec, Puerto Rico, U.S. overseas military installations and all other U.S. territories and possessions and where prohibited. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations. The SOA reserves the right to verify eligibility qualifications of the potential Finalists and Prize Winner(s). Entries received prior to or after the Contest Entry Period are void.
