The contest challenges students from across the country to create a short video demonstrating safety in the workplace. The top three video winners will receive scholarship prizes and be announced at the Opening Ceremony of the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, KY.

Videos submitted as part of this contest must be 60-120 seconds in length, with file formats: .avi, .mov, .mp4. They must also be created by the Entrant and must convey a message related to youth safety in the workplace. Videos may not have been previously submitted, distributed, aired or have won any other award in any other competition. You must upload your video to YouTube and submit the video url with your entry forms.

Judging takes place throughout 3 unique rounds, consisting of a combination of both private and public voting.
  • PART 1: JUDGES FROM CAREERSAFE, SKILLSUSA, AND OSHA WILL REVIEW ALL VIDEOS AND SELECT THE TOP 12 VIDEOS.
  • PART 2: VIDEOS WILL BE RELEASE FOR PUBLIC VOTING ON APRIL 15, 2020. STUDENTS CAN SHARE THEIR VIDEO WITH OTHERS TO RECEIVE ADDITIONAL VOTES.
  • FINAL: THE VIDEOS WITH THE COMBINED HIGHEST SCORES FROM BOTH PARTS OF JUDGING WILL RECEIVE THE TOP 3 PRIZES.

Eligibility:
To be eligible, your team must meet these requirements:

  • STUDENTS ARE ALL CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION STUDENTS THAT ARE LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA WHO ARE 13 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AS OF SEPTEMBER 1, 2020.
  • EACH ENTRY MUST HAVE A SPONSOR (E.G. TEACHER, MENTOR, ADVISOR, OR PARENT/GUARDIAN)
  • LIMIT ONE (1) ENTRY PER TEAM. A TEAM MAY BE COMPRISED OF ONE TO FIVE MEMBERS. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD A COMPLETE LIST OF THE CONTEST RULES.
